Hospital Visits

Members of VFW Post 5760 often team up with other veterans to host Bingo Nights while visiting the Veterans Administration (VA) Puget Sound Seattle Medical Center located on nearby Beacon Hill. Pictured here is former Post Commander Gary Winterstein with a resident patient and fellow Korean War-era Marine from VFW Post Federal Way, Robert Hair.
Each hospital visit brings in more members to meet and befriend resident patients. Such interaction is most often just the right medication or therapy needed. Most resident patients are dealing with long-term physical, neurological, or psychological challenges as a result of military service or combat-related wounds or injuries. We like to think our visits help fellow veterans in some meaningful way. Judging from the turnout and excitement generated at Bingo Nights, we’re certain such visits are well worth our time and talents.
